Blue Ridge Parkway -- This past weekend was nearly perfect for the viewing fall colors in our nearby mountains. We took our favorite trip from Charlotte, taking NC 226 north from Shelby to Marion, then US 70 briefly to NC 80, which then takes you up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. NC 80 is a twisty piece of two lane highway, a challenge for drivers, a joy for motorcyclists and anyone who loves mountain scenery.
